May of 2021 is an exciting month for Team Pelletier Properties, as we are celebrating the completion of our first TEN episodes of our hit cable TV show: “Real Estate Round Table”; which can be found at The Groton Channel, featured in our monthly newsletter, and all over our social media pages.
Since we only got to tape ONE episode of our show in the TV studio, before the pandemic hit and sent us over to Zoom tapings for now, we thought it might be fun to take a look back at that first episode; which had host Kelley Lynn chatting with fellow team members Nicholas Pelletier, and Christine Niemi; who also happens to be Kelley’s mom!
In the link below, you will see the reason for the title of our show, as Nick, Chris, and Kelley are all seated around a table and talking. The idea of our show is to make conversations about real estate informative, but also FUN and lighthearted. This is also why we end each episode with everyone’s favorite segment: “Questions from a Jar”, where host Kelley Lynn picks pieces of paper out of a jar with random topics/questions, and then both guest and host discuss them.
Also in this blog post celebrating 10 episodes (and many more to come!), we thought it might be extra fun to chat with the young woman who meets us on Zoom each month to tape our show, and who puts up with our general madness; Ashley Doucette, who has a new job title as Program Director at The Groton Channel. Below is 5 Questions with Ashley, and the link to Episode One of our show. Ashley will be a future guest on our show coming soon, so everyone can look forward to that! Enjoy!
EPISODE ONE: REAL ESTATE ROUND TABLE –
FIVE QUESTIONS WITH ASHLEY DOUCETTE:
- Can you tell us how you got involved with The Groton Channel, and what you do there?
I picked up a part-time position as a Production Assistant with The Groton Channel just out of college and am now in my fifth year at the studio and about to make the transition from Production Technician to Program Director. Throughout the years my responsibilities have included filming, editing, producing, and directing community events, sports, news, meetings, original programming, and more.
2. What are some of your favorite programs that are on The Groton Channel?
I know it sounds like I’m cheating the question here but I really don’t think I could pick a favorite. All of the programs that we produce are so unique and cover a variety of topics that it’s hard to pick just one. Each program is my favorite for a different reason.
3. Do you have a favorite episode or moment from “Real Estate Round Table”, out of the 10 we have taped so far?
My favorite moments from Real Estate Round Table are always the questions from a jar. The questions can be really thought-provoking or silly but they are always a lot of fun. You get to see a totally different side of the guests during that segment.
4. Whats it been like working during the pandemic for you, and when do you think taping shows in person will be a thing again?
Working during the pandemic has been strange for sure. I’ve been working remotely since the start so it has been hard not being at the studio with the rest of the team and sometimes I’m just so ready to be done with Zoom. But I will say that going remote has allowed for a wider variety of guests to come on our shows so it has been a blessing in some ways. We’ve also been able to catch up on some projects that we just haven’t had the time for in recent years. So, even though it has been difficult, it has been extremely productive and rewarding.
While we’d love to have all of our hosts and their guests back at the studio as soon as possible, there is a real struggle to make that work in such a small space as ours so we’ll be looking for local guidance from the Town of Groton on when and how to do that safely.
5. We love working with you on our show. What about your job do you love most?
The part about my job that I love the most is that I am always learning from our show producers and the content that we create together. Every episode is an opportunity to meet new people, hear their stories, and learn from their experiences.
